You’ll be working on full property rewires from start to finish, bringing modern electrical systems to older properties and new builds alike. 📋 Key Responsibilities

  • Complete Rewiring Projects – Carry out full domestic property rewires from initial assessment through to testing and certification in compliance with IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition)
  • First and Second Fix Work – Execute professional cable installation, distribution board fitting, socket and lighting circuits, and final connections
  • Testing & Certification – Conduct thorough testing and provide comprehensive electrical certificates for all completed rewiring projects
  • Project Planning – Assess properties, plan cable routes, and coordinate work efficiently to meet project timelines
  • Quality Standards – Maintain exceptional workmanship and attention to detail throughout all installations
  • Customer Liaison – Communicate professionally with homeowners, explaining work processes and addressing any concerns
  • Safety Compliance – Maintain strict adherence to health and safety regulations and building standards

✅ Essential Requirements

  • Valid electrical qualifications (City & Guilds 2391, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in domestic rewiring and full electrical installations
  • Current ECS card
  • Full UK driving license
  • Strong knowledge of current electrical regulations (18th Edition) and safety standards
  • Excellent technical skills in both first and second fix electrical work
  • Outstanding communication skills and customer service approach
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

As our operations continue to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Electrical Qualifying Supervisor to help maintain the highest technical and compliance standards across our projects.

This is a key role within the business, combining technical oversight, quality assurance, and team support to ensure our installations are safe, compliant, and delivered to an exceptional standard.

🔧 The Role

As Electrical Qualifying Supervisor, you’ll take responsibility for overseeing the quality and compliance of electrical works carried out by our electricians and approved subcontractors. You’ll provide technical leadership, carry out audits, review certification, and support both office-based and field-based teams.

You’ll play a vital part in ensuring our work complies with BS 7671, NICEIC requirements, and our own internal standards, helping us deliver safe, reliable installations to domestic (and occasional commercial) customers across Scotland.

📋 Key Responsibilities

  • Installation Audits – Audit electrical installations completed by in-house electricians and subcontractors to ensure compliance with BS 7671, NICEIC requirements, and company standards
  • Certification & Compliance – Check and sign off Electrical Installation Certificates, Electrical Installation Condition Reports and Minor Works Certificates, ensuring accuracy and full compliance
  • Technical Leadership – Provide technical support and guidance to electricians on-site and to office-based teams handling customer support and scheduling
  • Process & Safety Improvements – Work with management to review workmanship and safe working practices, recommending and implementing improvements where needed
  • Team Management – Provide day-to-day technical supervision and support for a small team of electricians, including subcontractor oversight
  • Site Surveys – Conduct site surveys to establish cable routes and installation methods for new circuits in domestic (and occasional commercial) settings
  • Survey Review – Review survey images and information from customers to determine appropriate installation methods in line with our standard working practices
  • RAMS & Documentation – Produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) in line with CDM regulations and company procedures
  • Job Specifications – Create job specifications and material lists for installations, ensuring the right materials and resources are in place
  • Project Oversight – Help manage selected installations from planning through to completion, liaising with in-house teams and subcontractors to ensure efficient delivery
  • On-Site Support – Be willing to travel to job sites when required to provide hands-on technical support, resolve issues, and ensure standards are maintained

✅ Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • 18th Edition (BS 7671)
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
  • City & Guilds Level 2 & 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
  • City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing) or equivalent
  • SMSTS or SSSTS (site safety qualification)
  • Proven experience in electrical installations, testing, inspection, and certification
  • Experience supervising or managing electricians and subcontractors

⭐ Desirable (Not Essential)

  • EV Charging qualification (e.g. C&G 2919)
  • Solar PV / renewables experience or qualifications
  • Previous experience working as a Qualifying Supervisor
